Car Maintenance Services by Johnson County Automotive
Our certified mechanics are ready to service your fleet.
Routine service and maintenance is the best way possible to protect your investment in your car. Our scheduled maintenance services will guard against expensive repairs, improve your gas mileage, and help extend the life of your car.
Oil Change:
We recommend that you change your oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles to help keep your car running at peak performance, eliminate excess wear on your engine and deliver better gas mileage. Our oil change service is competitively priced, and includes:
- Refill with up to 5 quarts of oil
- New oil filter
- Complete chassis lube
- Check transmission and rear differential oil levels
- Inspect belts, hoses, and air cleaner
Tune-Ups:
Today’s cars are more complex. Computer circuits control numerous systems and components working together to make your vehicle start and run properly. Over time, dirty fuel injectors, clogged filters and emission control systems, corroded spark plugs and a host of other problems contribute to decreased engine performance and lower gas mileage. Our certified technicians are trained in the latest technology to diagnose and tune your vehicle’s systems for peak performance. Our tune ups include:
- Replace spark plugs and, if necessary, wires
- Replace distributor cap and rotor
- Adjust ignition timing
- Adjust carburetor and idle speed control
- Analyze exhaust emissions
- Inspect and, if necessary, replace fuel filters and PCV valves
Belts and Hoses:
Your car’s belts and hoses are among the more critical components of your vehicle. Although manufacturer’s specifications call for replacement of timing and serpentine belts anywhere from every 24,000 to 50,000 miles, they should be inspected more frequently for signs of wear or impending failure. Our maintenance service includes:
- Inspection of timing belt for wear and slippage
- Inspection of serpentine belt for cracking, wear and stripping
- Inspection of all cooling system hoses for leaks and weak spots
- Inspection of air conditioning pressure hoses
We routinely inspect belts and hoses when we change your car’s oil; however, we suggest that if you have your oil changed elsewhere, you should bring your vehicle in every 6 months for a comprehensive inspection of your belts and hoses.
Cooling System:
The main cause of cooling system failures, and over-heating cars, is lack of routine maintenance. Like all systems in your vehicle, your cooling system needs regular attention to prevent failure. Our cooling system maintenance service includes:
- Radiator flush
- Check fluid levels
- Check antifreeze levels
- Inspect system hoses
- Inspect and test radiator for clogs or leaks
- Inspect and test thermostat
- Pressure test system
Air-Conditioning System:
Recently, federal regulations have changed the rules regarding the use and disposal of refrigerants in your car’s air conditioning system. It is therefore very important that trained and certified mechanics perform maintenance and repair for your vehicle’s air conditioning system. Our air conditioning maintenance service includes:
- Inspecting performance of the system
- Checking for leaks
- Recovery and recycling of refrigerants
- Pressure-testing the system
